Growing Edible Plants In Containers

Some of the best plants I’ve grown have been the unexpected ones – nasturtiums climbing out of a hanging basket, red okra in a grow bag, or a wonderful crop of turmeric. If it’s beautiful, useful, tasty, or just a bit ‘out there,’ I’ve probably tried growing it.

You’ll find guides here on growing edible flowers like nasturtium, calendula, and borage (yes, they really are edible), plus unusual edibles you won’t usually see at the supermarket. Think Mexican sour gherkins, chayote, roselle, lemon balm, and more. Most of them do surprisingly well in containers! I’ll show you how to grow them in small spaces, on balconies, or hanging baskets.
